About the event
Women set up about 40% of new businesses. Yet, in 2017, only 2.2% of venture capital funding went to female founders. Only 12% went to mixed gender management teams. An identical pitch from an all male team is four times more likely to get funded than one that includes a woman.
We can and we must do better.
This does not even come close to representing the female entrepreneurial talent that is out there. Sadly, the same biases that result in these outcomes plague other areas of business and capital markets. A lot of value being lost unnecessarily for investors, for entrepreneurs and for customers.
